The Sneaker Club preschool curriculum follows the Jordan School District checklist: What your child should know before kindergarten. The curriculum will provide the students with a love for learning and a head start into kindergarten. Each program will move with each child’s individual pace. Each child will be assessed at the beginning of the year, in January, and in May so the teachers may be consistent in helping each child do their best. Parent-teacher conferences are available upon request.
The students will have their own classrooms where they will learn to recognize their names on their lockers and at their seats. We begin our class time with a “starter” to introduce the theme, then move into calendar and instruction, learning time in our seats and discovery time around the classroom, to the art room for creative art, outside or in the playroom for play time, snack time in the snack room, and back to the carpet to do music and movement and story time.
The themes for the year include All About Me, “I Can”, Being a Friend, Fall, Being Safe in Our Community, Scarecrows, Apples, Halloween, Being Healthy, Fruits and Vegetables, Family, Pilgrims and Indians, Thanksgiving, Winter, Holidays, the Gingerbread Man, Giving, New Year, Snow, Martin Luther King Jr., Arctic Animals and Penguins, Groundhog Day, Abraham Lincoln & George Washington, Valentines, Things that Go, Community Helpers, Dr. Seuss, Wind, Air, Water, Dinosaurs, Spring, Amphibians and Reptiles, Insects, Farm Animals, Earth Day, Mother’s Day, Zoo and Wild Animals, Cinco de Mayo, Oceans, and more!
